NEW VerticalMouse™ 4
VerticalMouse™ 3
Right-Handed (VM4R)
Left-Handed (VM4L)
Small Size (VM4S)
Wireless (VM3W-R)

NEW FOR 2011! The VM4S is now available - the long-awaited Small-size model. It is about 10% smaller than the standard VM4 and is ideal for those with hands under 7" long.

NEW FOR 2010! The VerticalMouse 4 has been released as of September 2010. This upgraded model adds a few useful features not available on the VM3, namely the adjustable laser sensor. The other big change with the VM4 is that the right-handed and left-handed models are now the same price. The model# for the right-hand version is VM4R and the left-hand version is VM4L. As of now if you want wireless connectivity you'll still need to buy the cordless VM3.

The Evoluent Vertical Mouse is by far the best and most popular ergonomic vertical mouse available. It has been a best-seller for many years and continues to dominate over competitors. This mouse employs a unique "handshake" grip that keeps your hand, wrist and forearm in a sideways position, which is more conducive to comfort. The main model number is VM3R2-RSB for the standard right-handed version that is corded with a usb connector plug, the model# for the wireless version of the right-hand mouse is VM3W-R, and they make a left-handed version (slightly older in design) under model number VM2-LSB.

The 3M Ergonomic Renaissance Mouse is the second best vertical mouse available featuring a very sturdy construction. Sometimes called the 3M Stick Mouse, this input device acts more like a joystick than its counterparts which some people find very easy to use. On the other hand some users report this mouse being harder to get used to than the Evoluent mouse.

Finally, the Zero Tension Mouse is also a popular ergonomic vertical mouse but its construction is not of very high quality. The defective rate of this mouse is relatively high compared to others, but it is a decent mouse. Users have reported increased comfort and decreased hand strain with this mouse, when it is not defective of course.

So, you're looking for the best ergonomic mouse to use with your computer and you've heard mixed things about the vertical mouse, some good, some bad and others in the middle. First of all, if someone is talking about the Vertical Mouse, then they are talking about the Evoluent. If, however, it is a discussion about vertical computer mouse devices in general, in can mean any of the three listed above. Having been in the ergonomic products distribution business for 25 years we can confidently recommend great products based on sales numbers as well as customer reviews and feedback. Overall, the Evoluent mouse is the winner in terms of quality, design and longevity. It has been around now coming up on 10 years in the near future, and it has always been a best seller since its inception. We would also like to add that the Zero Tension Mouse has a very high defective rate and it is not very sturdy or durable at all. Many people jump on this mouse as the first ergonomic mouse they try, mostly because its the least expensive one, and then are deeply disappointed when they get it and start using it. Customers have told us things about this mouse like "cheaply made", "piece of c**p" and so on... things we've never heard once about the Evoluent VerticalMouse.
